Write Your YES Story

How do you begin to capture all that a single YES can bring into your life?

One small word. One giant leap.
Every person who says YES carries a powerful WHY — a spark, a dream, a moment that calls them forward. These stories remind us that a single YES can be a turning point, opening the door to connection, joy, and possibility.

The Power of YES: My White Rim Story

Almost three decades ago, I stumbled into my very first White Rim trip. I was 22, fresh out of college, and didn’t even know what I had signed up for. I borrowed my mom’s chamois, didn’t know how to pitch a tent, rented a bike, and had no clue this “loop” was one of the most iconic mountain bike adventures in the world.

What I didn’t know then was that saying YES to this trip would change the course of my life.

Surrounded by the desert’s red rocks, eyes wide with wonder, something inside me ignited. Four days later I emerged transformed—awakened to possibilities I had never imagined. I wasn’t the same 22-year-old who had set out. That first YES planted the seed to leave the cubicle behind and step into a life filled with movement, adventure, and community.

Fast forward to today. I get to return to the White Rim, not as a wide-eyed first-timer, but as a leader guiding an extraordinary crew of women across the same desert trail. It’s full circle. It’s possibility in action. And it’s a reminder that every YES has the power to become a turning point in our story.

This is the heart of DOSE:

Dopamine sparks when we set a big, bold goal that stretches us.

Oxytocin flows when we share the journey with a supportive squad.

Serotonin builds as confidence rises with each step forward.

Endorphins flood when we let go, laugh hard, and soak up the joy of being alive with our bodies in motion.

For me, the White Rim is more than just a trail. It’s a chapter I get to revisit and rewrite. And it’s an invitation for each of us: your story isn’t finished. You can edit it. You can rewrite it. You can expand your comfort zone and surprise yourself with what you’re capable of.

That’s why we adventure. That’s why we gather. That’s why we say YES.

Your Turn

Your YES doesn’t have to look like mine. Maybe it’s a career pivot. Maybe it’s prioritizing your health. Maybe it’s an adventure on a trail or in a gym. Or maybe it’s finally saying YES to yourself—your joy, your growth, your possibility—for the first time in a long time.

At The Desert Dose, we’ve built pathways to say YES—big and small—that add up to powerful change. Whether through DOSE Adventures, Women on Weights, or 1:1 Coaching, your YES story matters.

“Every YES has the potential to become a turning point in our story.”

Almost three decades ago, I stumbled into my first White Rim trip at 22. I borrowed gear, rented a bike, and had no idea this “loop” was one of the most iconic rides in the world. Four days later, I emerged transformed—eyes wide with wonder and ready to leave the cubicle behind.

Now I return full circle, not as a first-timer but as a leader guiding an extraordinary crew of women. The White Rim is more than a trail; it’s a chapter that continues to remind me of the power of saying YES.

That’s why we adventure. That’s why we gather. That’s why we say YES.

“To bike my way home to myself and into lovely new experiences.”

The White Rim has long been a dream, and saying YES at this stage of life feels like a healthy reset—a reconnection with my adventurous side. I’m most excited to spend four days outdoors, moving through the desert with a new circle of friends.

For me, pedaling into possibility means opening to the unknown: who knows what’s waiting for us out there?

This YES is a reminder of who I am—and who I’m becoming.

“This is the best way I know how to prospect for joy.”

I love riding my bike, camping under the stars, and being challenged in beautiful places. I’m not sure why I’ve never ridden the White Rim before, but when the chance came, it was a hard YES.

I’m most excited for the scenery and the night sky. To me, pedaling into possibility means anything can happen—rainbows, laughter, struggle, or soul-deep connection with the land.

Every ride holds the possibility to transform us forever.

“For me, riding is pure exhilaration.”

Since girlhood, bikes have set me free time and again. I can’t explain how two wheels and a bit of grease touch my soul so deeply, but I’ve never been able to say no to a ride. The White Rim is no exception.

I’m thrilled to connect with others who love all things bike and to share the joy this trail promises.

Pedaling into possibility means continuing to claim joy and say YES to life.

“I’m in my adventure era.”

I said yes to create connections, embrace new experiences, and welcome challenges. The White Rim feels like the perfect place to do all three.

What excites me most? Sleeping under the stars of the Utah desert.

For me, pedaling into possibility means pushing outside my comfort zone and realizing that what feels out of reach is possible when I keep pedaling forward.

This YES is about momentum, connection, and wonder.

“Opening new avenues for health, friendship, and experiences.”

I joined this adventure to give myself a goal—a reason to keep building my fitness while saying YES to an epic trip.

I’m excited for the sweeping views, and even more for the chance to get to know a crew of rad, inspiring women.

Pedaling into possibility means staying open to growth—in body, in friendship, and in life.

This YES is about strength and community.

“Ask for what you want.

Accept what you get.

Work on the difference.”

I’ve always been a YES affirmer to adventure. The White Rim is one of my favorite places—where desert sandstone, rivers, and wide skies remind me of both my smallness and my strength.

I love the challenge, the beauty, the camaraderie—and yes, even the chaos when things don’t go to plan. This trip is serendipity, a chance to reconnect with myself, my bike, and an incredible community.

I’m excited for the laughter, the energy, the magic of public lands. Nervous? Only that I might laugh so hard I’ll pee my pants.

Pedaling into possibility means powering up with joy, humility, and gratitude for the ride.
